The S11 sauna. Design by Studio F. A. Porsche – a sensory journey through warmth, light and sound

Sauna specialist Klafs and design firm Studio F. A. Porsche have joined forces to realise the S11 sauna, an iconic new limited edition sauna bathing solution.

A self-confident design statement that delights the senses, the S11 represents a return to purist, timeless forms and innovative techniques that serve complete relaxation.

With just 999 exclusive units available, the S11 has been carefully dimensioned with precisely angled horizontal wooden slats on three sides and traditional Japanese Washi paper as a backdrop. Thanks to the translucent paper, seemingly free-floating loungers and specially designed lighting technology the S11 invites an organic, warm feeling of space and depth.

Klafs says the light in the sauna is refracted so softly and evenly that it gives the room an ethereal glow. With elegantly rounded elements and flowing transitions between the loungers and the walls, the S11 with its purist, timeless aesthetic is an absolute wellness highlight for every home and spa.

“In the interior, light and sound sequences are combined with free-floating wooden slats and the wall made of translucent washi paper in a unique way to let the sauna bathers relax in a dissolving sense of space,” explained Henning Rieseler, design director at Studio F. A. Porsche.

The S11’s revolutionary colour and sound concept whisks guests away to magical worlds of relaxation where they can experience sunbeams shimmering in the treetops or immerse themselves in the vastness of the oceans.

The sauna is also available as a free-standing model with a high-quality external finish in metallic champagne or as a customised built-in offering.
